Clarity of Line by N.R. Walker ~ Review by Brandilyn

Title: Clarity of Line (Thomas Elkin #2)

Author: N.R. Walker

Publisher: Totally Bound

Publication Status: Available for early download from the publisher.

Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance

Themes: Age Gap, Family issues, Death of minor character

My Rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

From the Publisher:

Book two in the Thomas Elkin series.

Sometimes it’s not the two people in a relationship who fight falling in love, sometimes it’s those who love us that fight against it the most.

Finally together, forty-four year old Tom, and twenty-two year old Cooper, are ready to show the world they’re together. They’ve established their relationship is worth it, and want to share it with their families.

Both men thought accepting the age difference was their adversity to overcome, and theirs alone.

Their loved ones, however, will prove them wrong.

For their families, lines are drawn and start blur. Through a series of events, life shakes Tom’s foundations, the lines for him have never been clearer.

My View:

There was never a question of IF I was going to read this book, but when. Well the answer was as soon as fraking possible. I literally purchased this book the minute it was available from the publisher. Why you may ask (well if you have to ask, you obviously don’t read this blog… I LOVE books 😉 )… In reality I purchased it that quickly because the first book made me fall so hard for two characters, I needed more. Of course, N.R. Walker delivered. I read this book on Friday, if you have read my blog this week you will understand that I needed a book to help lighten my heart. Again, Walker delivered.

I fell in love with Walker’s style and words very early in my M/M education when someone recommended to me her absolutely fabulous Point of No Return (which I am happy to report is once again available here after a little publisher snafu…). She writes characters that I just want to love and hug and take home with me (though, I obviously have the wrong bits for them… they can have each other, just let me be their friend).

I have talked with many people who don’t like this series because it is a “Age Gap” romance (in this case a very large age gap), and that squigs them out. I, honestly, don’t understand that stance. I love how Cooper, the younger of the couple, is the aggressor in this relationship. He knows what he wants and he goes after it. Of course since this is book two, he has already snagged his man. In Clarity of Lines, he fiercely defends his relationship with Tom to anyone and everyone who may question him. I love the whole “move in with me” shtick. I love that even with the love of his life, he fights for what is right. I love how he takes charge when Tom needs him most but is too afraid to ask for his help.

So why only 4.5 stars if I love it so much?? Well, that is an easy one to answer… I want MORE!!! I know, I know book 3 is in the works, but I want more NOW darn it (no patience is not one of my virtues 😉 ).
