Perfect Tree by JP Barnaby ~ Review by Brandilyn

In the midst of all the fanfare surrounding the singles release of the Zombie Boyz stories, JP Barnaby quietly released a little teaser short just in time for Christmas.  It is set the in world of her upcoming epic novel In The Absence of Monsters and surrounds Master Ethan and his boy Jayden and their holiday celebrations.

From the Publisher:

Master Ethan has decided that his boy Jayden should have a nice traditional Christmas for the first time in their relationship. What would Christmas be without the perfect tree?

My View:

So I have been struggling with what to say about The Perfect Tree.  Let’s face it, it is hard to write a review on a 21 page story.  The Perfect Tree is not meant to be a full story, but to whet one’s appetite for Barnaby’s Epic release coming in January 2014, In the Absense of Monsters.  Well it served its purpose and served it well.  I am already a little bit in love with Ethan and Jayden and NEED their whole story.  Now I know their story is not going to be easy to read (Barnaby never is) but I just MUST know more.

Tree is set around Christmas and is mostly just a scene between Ethan and Jayden, but it is a hot as hell.  There is also some family and relationship growth that is very sweet.  All I really know is that at the end, I wanted In the Absence of Monsters, right freaking now!

In the Absence of Monsters is a reworked, reedited, and re-release version of 2 of Barnaby’s earlier novels The Forbidden Room and A House of Cards: Deconstructing Ethan both of which have been on my wishlist for-freaking-ever.  I am so excited for Monsters it isn’t even funny.

So in the mean time, pick up The Perfect Tree while you wait.  Oh and come back on 1 Feb for our stop on the In the Absence of Monsters blog tour.
