I recently did a post where I reflected on what I had accomplished in 2013. It was a world wind year for me professionally. Yet, as I was looking back, I asked myself, “What can I do in 2014 to top last year?” My answer? Read—Write—Improve—Repeat.
Every book I write, each round of edits I go through, beta reader comments I read, fan response, review, book I read, teaches me something. I believe the best thank you I can give those who read and support my books, is to keep learning, keep improving and striving to put out the best damn book I can. My amazing fans deserve nothing less than my best. My goal in 2014 will be no different. Read—Write—Improve—Repeat.
I’ve taken on a few challenges this year. I’ll be publishing my first Mystery/Romance I’ve tentatively titled Night Stick (this is subject to change as my mood does) It’s a story set in rural Tennessee in 1952. Tomas Webber an officer of the law has to confront his demons, dark desires he’s kept hidden, when he is forced to take in a stranded motorist during a tornado. It will be published early this year by Wilde City Press. My first book with them, but won’t be the last since I was bad and kind of, sort of, maybe left Night Stick with a bit of a cliff hanger.
For those who have enjoyed the Guards of Folsom series, you’ll get your fix this spring with the release of ROPED. Roped is completely different than anything else in the series. It’s the story of Tek & Jamie who are the two mountain sized men Mason runs into at the end of Tag Team. I have a soft spot for these two characters and for the first time EVER. I didn’t hate this book as I reached the end. In fact, I hated to end it so I’m sure there will be more from Tek & Jamie in the near future. (Promise!) But first I’ll be working on BOUND. The main characters are still a secret but all the characters from the previous books will make an appearance and will need to come together to protect one of their own.
Another first for me is I’ll be dipping my toes into the self-pub world. My BAMF (Bad Ass Mother F*#ker) series will be out in March, April or May….depending on, when I finish it, when I name it, and whether or not I can actually pull it off. I’ll keep you posted. But….yeah…I’m pretty sure you’ll be hearing from Jamie Firestone very soon!
Ooohhhh and Jo has completely embraced the dark side!!! Splintered, will be out later this year from Dreamspinner Press. Serial killer, blood, gore, mayhem, death!! Oh yeah, I got into this one big time and what came out skeered me. I always knew I was a bit twisted but obviously my depravity has no bounds. While Splintered has some romantic elements, it’s basically a Thriller/Mystery. I just hope I’ve married the two genres successfully.
And finally, this new year will also see release for Tuck & Owen in Sua Sponte, Innocence to the Max expanded, and last but not least more from Mac & Gunny! Whew I’m exhausted just thinking about it. I better get to work!!
