Unconventional Courtship by Scotty Cade ~ Audiobook Review by Brandilyn

An Unconventional Courtship has been on the TBR in eBook form for quite some time (nothing against the book, my TBR list is quite long), so when it came out in audio, I jumped on it.  I will definitely be watching for more titles narrated by Finn Sterling, and am hoping the sequel is out on audio soon.

From the Publisher:

Tristan Moreau loves his job as chief administrative officer and personal assistant to Webber Kincaid, President, Chairman, and CEO of Kincaid International. It would be the perfect job…if only he hadn’t fallen in love with his boss as well as the work. After two years, he’s still doing everything in his power to keep his feelings hidden-mostly because he wants to protect the reputation of his famous boss but also because he wants to keep his job.

Webber Kincaid has stayed in the closet, using his best friend and confidante as his beard. Everything in his life was working out just fine until he met Tristan Moreau. Within months, Tristan stole his heart and became his lifeline. But Webber knows the rules of the workplace better than anyone, so he’s kept his distance.

But two years is too long to wonder “what if?”-especially when business takes them to a private Caribbean island. When Tristan and Webber succumb to the tropical heat, their professionalism starts to backslide. It’s a seemingly impossible relationship, making a go at it under the paparazzi’s microscope. It may be the best-or the worst-business decision they ever made.

My View

The Story

An Unconventional Courtship is a bit… unconventional (sorry, couldn’t help it).  It is a typical love story, with a bit of a twist.   If you are looking for gritty, angsty, and real… look elsewhere.  If you want a sweet love story and a comfort read, An Unconventional Courtship just might be for you.

Tristan has been in love with his straight boss, Webber, for two years.  Just when he can’t take anymore, Webber invites Tristan to his private island for a business trip.  Of course Webber has a crush of his own, about which Tristan has no clue.   The romance is a bit over the top, but who doesn’t dream of that every once in a while.  When I got to the end, I wanted more of this couple, so I will be reading the sequel soon.

The Narration

As I said in the beginning, I will be watching for more titles narrated by Finn Sterling.  He has a smooth voice and a delivery that fades into the background to let the story shine.  This is about the highest praise I can have for a narrator.

  1. I’m not usually into listening to narrations of a book since I prefer to read butthe way you described Finn Sterling voice makes me curious.

  2. I could never understand the appeal of audio books until I was outside today doing Spring garden cleanup. This sounds like a good book to start with!
