Insolita Luna: Book One
Zack met his best friend, Noah, at Harper Lake when they were five years old. Summer after summer, his feelings grew, but he assumed Noah didn’t feel the same. But one night when they were seventeen, Zack kissed Noah… and Noah kissed him back. Zack was sure he did. But the next morning, Noah put an end to their friendship and walked away, leaving Zack with a broken heart.
A year has passed, and Zack goes back to the lake—where every leaf, rock, and turn in the road remind him of the biggest mistake he ever made. He hates thinking about what he lost, and more than anything he wants his best friend back. He figures it’ll be the longest summer ever. But then Noah shows up out of the blue, apologetic and more gorgeous than ever. Noah is sweet and attentive, and Zack can almost believe nothing had ever gone wrong. But there’s something different about his old friend, something not quite right. Zack doesn’t want to ruin the fragile new bond between them, but he has to know… What secret is Noah hiding?
My View – Story:
I first read this back in September 2012 and it was just as good the 2nd time round.
Noah and Zack have been friends since childhood. At first it was just meeting up during the holidays, then there was keeping up with each other via email and text. Although from different backgrounds their friendship was strong and they planned on going to college together. The night they kissed when they were seventeen felt perfect but changed everything when Noah walked away the next morning.
A year later and Zack is begrudgingly back at the cabin with his family for the holidays. He misses his best friend and still can’t understand what went so wrong. When he discovers Zack by the lake his mind is awash with questions, the biggest being how can Noah stand there and say he wants him back when he so easily walked away.
Noah has been protecting Zack from his family secrets but much has changed in the last year and Noah now lives a very different life. The pair were meant to be together and I love how accepting Zack is and how he embraces the new Noah and stands by his man. There is little angst and lots of love and some very hot scenes as they get to know each other again and make up for lost time.
There is a great group of secondary characters to support Zack and Noah, each with their own unique traits. As Noah seeks revenge he has to also consider what path he must take to keep Zack with him forever whilst dealing with a crazy family who want him dead.
My View – Narration:
Michael Stellman, another new voice to me and definitely one I will listen to again. Clear, smooth and very easy to listen to.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the audiobook of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
