I read and enjoyed the first 3 books in this series a while ago, so of course I jumped at the chance to review book 4.
Author: Renee George
My Rating: 4.25 of 5 stars
From the Publisher:
When bartender Chris Lawson after getting unexpected bad news, he goes into shock. Even more shocking is when he wakes up, he’s in the arms of Marty Lincoln, an Army Ranger on leave from his post. Even in his grief, Chris feels instantly connected to the war ravaged vet.
Only two problems: Marty is his boss’s younger brother. And even if that wasn’t an obstacle, the battle-hardened Ranger is straight. Or is he?
***This takes place in the CockTail serials world, but is a stand-alone novella.
First of all, don’t be scared off if you haven’t read the first 3 books in the Cock & Tails world. You can still read and fully enjoy The Dirty Martini. That being said, they are quick reads, so no excuses… go get the first 3 books. Go on; I will wait. Okay we up to speed on the men of The Other Team Sports Bar & Grill? Okay so let’s talk about the latest additions to the team. Marty and Chris. Chris is the often-mentioned, player bartender for The Other Team. Marty is the owner’s Army Ranger little brother. Oh and did we mention his STRAIGHT little brother?
Well this is a Gay Romance, so maybe Marty isn’t quite as straight as we first thought. Marty is scared, quite literally, from his time as an Army Ranger in Iraq. He has nightmares of the battle that took his best friend from his life. Chris has his own demons in his past, from which he is trying to run. Together they make a sad but interesting (and of course hot) pair.
I like that these short little stories are more than just a one and done scene. They set up a longer relationship which will be revisited in future installments. Installments which I am eagerly awaiting.
I would like to thank the author for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
