Another Short from the Mended Daily Dose.
Author: M. Lee
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars
Cover Artist: Catt Ford
From the Publisher:
After a typical rough night, Jerome Daniel’s day plunges into nightmare territory when he has a paralyzing flashback at work. Fortunately, Ryan Parker is there to calm him down and take him home. When they narrowly avoid an accident on the way, Jerome is sent spinning again. Ryan insists on staying with Jerome, and in the safety of Jerome’s apartment he relaxes enough to enjoy Ryan’s company, where they discover they have more in common than they think.
Nightsweats is another short story in the Mended Daily Dose collection. However, in its small number of pages, it takes one a pretty heavy topic. That of PTSD. Jerome is having a bad day which is made worse by a flashback and a panic attack. However, his co-worker Ryan, is determined to make sure Jerome is okay… In more ways than one.
Nightsweats depicts a great start to a potential relationship. It shows us that people from different worlds can have more in common than one might think. It shows us that compassion can come from unexpected places. It also shows us that everyone needs that compassion in their lives. Yes Ryan and Jerome make some hot times together, but that isn’t what I take away from this little tale.
I am very interested to see what else M. Lee has in store for us.
I would like to thank Dreamspinner Press for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
