Slasherazzi by Daniel Kaine ~ Review by Brandilyn

So I promised to read this little thriller that one Daniel A Kaine wrote.  I even promised not to skim the gory parts…

Slasherazzi_100dpi_cvrTitle: Slasherazzi

Author: Daniel Kaine

PublisherWilde City

My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

From the Publisher:

Recently promoted to Detective, Alex is out to prove himself and the Slasherazzi case is the perfect opportunity. Mutilated corpses are showing up across Tampa, and when the team discovers the newest victim was tortured alive, Alex becomes more determined than ever to stop the crazed serial killer before the horrific stabbings escalate further.

With the return of Alex’s ex-boyfriend and journalist, Vince, the investigation takes a dangerous twist: the killer starts showing a personal interest in Alex. Can he stop the murders and salvage his relationship with Vince, or does he risk letting both men get away?

My View

Holy f***. When I try to think what to write about Slasherazzi by Daniel A Kaine, that is the only phrase that comes to mind. It has been a long time since a book has given me a book hangover. It has been a long time since I have said to people, flat-out without reservation or qualification, “buy this book”. It has been even longer since a book has left me at a loss for words. Slasherazzi has done all three.

I don’t want to give away even a smidgen of the plot. I want you to experience for it for yourself in all its gory… err glory. I want you to hold your breath with Alex as he tries to solve the case. I want you to experience the highs, lows, and even a few laughs, along with these characters. I want you to sit and wonder how you go on when you reach those final words. I want you to love this book as much as I do.

I have read one other title by Daniel A Kaine, the Zombie tale Surviving Sin City co-written with Ethan Stone. I want to go back and read everything else on his backlist. He has a truly awesome imagination… and I would never want to meet his imagination in a dark alley. I will also say, don’t read this book within an hour of eating… Just saying.

  1. It’s weird but I have a problem reading stories based on a town I live in. Will have to wait for BN and get the sample, see how much Tampa is actually mentioned. (Also can’t read stories w/redhead’s , except Griff)
