A sweet and sexy honest-to-goodness romance …

A Change of Tune Title: A Change of Tune

Blurb:

Johnny Rayne has had enough–enough of being at the top of the rock music industry for the last decade, enough of constant touring and recording. He wants something more–something very different. Moving to a farm in West Virginia, Johnny runs smack into Sheriff Virgil Grissom his first morning in the mountains.

The sheriff challenges Johnny in a multitude of ways–with overt machismo, disdain for Johnny’s musician past, and all-around know-it-all-ness. The two men clash continually, and Johnny resists succumbing to the sheriff’s brash charm until Grissom forces him to admit some very basic truths.

One: Johnny’s definitely attracted to men. Two: Johnny’s definitely attracted to Grissom. And three: Johnny’s definitely going to enjoy every moment of it.

Note: This novel was previously published. It has been substantially revised and re-edited for this release.

My View:

JM Cartwright’s A Change of Tune is a true romance – there is no mystery, and there are no action scenes – but what a sweet and endearing love story! Johnnie has left his life of stardom in the music industry to move to rural West Virginia to begin his “real” life. He meets handsome Sheriff Grissom the day he moves in, and sparks fly immediately between the two men.

Johnnie and Grissom pretty quickly begin a sexual relationship – I mean … with the sexual energy popping between the two as hot fire, who could resist? The sex scenes in this story are unusually well written – erotic, sensual and passionate, but it is the growing emotional connection between Johnnie and Grissom that makes their union so fun to read. Johnnie accepts that he’s gay and is happy to finally be living his life authentically and out of the closet, but Grissom initially struggles with taking that final step of commitment to Johnnie until he realizes that he may lose the man he loves. The evolution of Johnnie and Grissom’s relationship, and their the creation of a lovely family, is pure pleasure for the reader to enjoy.

This is a delightfully sweet and loving story with a nice happy ending that is, of course, a smidgen unrealistic, but the story is still lots of fun to read. Also, do not underestimate how amazingly hot and adventuresome the sexual relationship between Johnnie and Grissom is! I recommend this fun and sexy story to anyone who loves romance … and dogs!
