The series is set around werewolves and a fierce war they are fighting with the hell hounds. To get a good understanding of the world building I would recommend you start with book 1.
Title: Full Moon Torn
Author: Jackie Nacht
Rating: 4 of 5 Stars
Knox has been at Moon Compound for over three years. His life forever changed when his mate was brought in, injured from the cruel captivity endured at the hands of hellhounds. Now, torn between protecting Whitley and letting him help his pack, Knox loses the battle with his wolf and turns feral.
When Whitley is summoned back to Moon Compound, he finds his beloved mate locked in a cell to protect both himself and others at the compound. Whitley knows what to do, but isn’t sure Knox will agree to the consequences.
I discovered this series a few months ago whilst looking for a book to read for a Bingo challenge on Goodreads. They are each short stories revolving around a pair of werewolves. This is the story of Knox and Whitley.
These shifters differ from what you may have read before. Shifting is dangerous and painful. You have to be able to control your wolf and until that happens and you are safe to be around your pack you reside at a compound and are monitored. Occasionally the wolf proves too powerful, making you feral and resigning you to a life at the compound to ensure everyones safety.
Knox has been at this compound for 3 years and is still struggling with his wolf. He has met his mate, Whitley, but they have not yet mated and cemented their bond. As Whitleys father has just died and his pack has been savaged by the hell hounds he has to return home. Although Knox the man can understand this his wolf cannot, the latest full moon sees anger and tension rise, he loses his grasp on his wolf and is declared feral.
Whitley must return to the compound and do anything and all he can to bring Knox back before it is too late. Having discovered the supernatural abilities of Omega blood he hopes he has the answer but nobody really knows how it works or what the results will be.
The series is full of unanswered questions and has a lot of room to expand. It is fun, quirky and a little bit addictive. I am already looking forward to the next instalment….hopefully it will be all about Malach…..but what will a Delta mean to the compound?
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
