Just look at that hunk of a man staring out from the cover … Sigh …

Former mercenary Bull Krebbs now heads up security at his nightclub in Harrisburg, PA. Working the door night after night, he’s seen it all. Though tough on the outside, he’s a little hurt that people find him unapproachable. Then he pulls a cute twink out of line to perform a random search, and he’s surprised when the guy giggles and squirms.
Zach Spencer, graphic artist, twink, and seriously ticklish, isn’t intimidated by Bull. He’s in awe, and when Bull saves Zach from being trampled on the dance floor, Zach finds his inspiration for the superhero in his graphic novel.
Soon Zach wants more and makes his move by asking Bull on a date. Though small, he has a backbone of steel. He’ll need it—their happily ever after is thwarted at every turn, including by Bull’s interloping mother showing up unannounced and enemies from Bull’s past threatening to pull him to the other side of the world.
My View – Story:
First, allow me to take a moment to heap praise upon L.C. Chase, the cover artist for Inside Out (the cover photo is credited to FLYFOTO). The hunky bear staring unsmiling out from the cover, with his hairy chest, shaved head, and abundant muscles, is the epitome of Bull. Y-u-m-m-y! Love, love, love the cover!
Now for my review of the story …
Few authors write character driven stories quite like Andrew Grey, and he doesn’t disappoint with Inside Out. Bull is clearly my favorite character. He’s not lived a pampered life, and has a history of being a mercenary. He’s now part owner of a popular gay bar, and he’s responsible for the security. He just oozes “unapproachable,” and makes no secret that he’s definitely not interested in a relationship with anyone – he’s been there, done that, and had the broken heart to show for it. No nonsense Bull doesn’t know what has hit him when cute as a button twink Zach giggles and wiggles his way into Bull’s reserved heart. Zach is adorable and always seems to be in need of rescuing from some predicament – and Bull is the perfect guy to be this cutie’s keeper! They make one of the sweetest and sexiest couples around, and these seemingly mismatched guys are together delectable.
There is also an exciting and angst filled story line focusing on Bull’s mercenary past bringing danger and intrigue into his and Zach’s new relationship. This portion of the book is, of course, more than a tad unrealistic, but it is also undeniably intriguing.
Overall, I highly recommend that you enjoy Inside Out, as a book and especially as an audiobook. Bull and Zach are delicious!
My View – Narration:
John Solo is a well-known and respected narrator who delivers one of his patented solid performances in Inside Out. Solo has a voice that is pleasant to the ear, and his distinctive narrations of Bull and Zach’s characters are perfect for the men as described in the story. Solo’s performance only enhances the experience of enjoying this delightful story. I always look forward to listening to a John Solo narration!
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the audiobook of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
