Secrets of Neverwood The Secrets of Neverwood by GB Lindsey, Diana Copland, Libby Drew
Though the first book in this collection was not her cup of tea, Brandilyn thinks many people will love it.  Overall, however, Brandilyn adores this set of stories and is just a little in love with these three foster brothers.

Chasing the Rebel Chasing the Rebel by Tyler Flynn
I’ve picked this because I felt its style was very different to other historical stories I’ve read. It was character based yet had an action style which was unusual and refreshing. It had everything I could have wanted, plot, action, surprises, characterisation and a great ending.

Kitto Kitto by Harper Fox
Beverley’s Recommended Read this month is the wonderful fourth installment of the Tyack and Frayne series, Kitto by Harper Fox. She sees this author as a true wordsmith, and each novella in this series a perfectly crafted gem. In Kitto, Beverley found that the Cornish countryside and believable characters wrapped you in a world where love is real, and the veil between the normal and paranormal world is thin.

ThinkOfEngland Think of England by KJ Charles
Same as with this author’s Magpie Lord series, “Think of England” is written in a slightly ironic tone that keeps the story from turning too dark despite bloodshed and violence. The narrative voice manages to lend the story depth and quality without taking itself too seriously, which, in my opinion, is a rare gift.

ArtofBreathing[The] The Art of Breathing by TJ Klune
Plenty of m/m writers—I’m growing to dislike that term—writers of gay lit—produce good, but perhaps generic, stories of love and striving to achieve happiness. I always am on the lookout for a distinct voice, a unique writing style that pushes all my buttons and pulls all my heartstrings. TJ Klune is one of those writers. He is always a somewhat exhausting read, but never unfulfilling. “The Art of Breathing,” his latest Otter, Bear and the Kid story, was a great read. Not for everyone, perhaps, but very much for me.

This Is Not a Love Story This Is Not a Love Story by Suki Fleet
Christine cannot recommend This Is Not a Love Story by Suki Fleet highly enough. This powerful love story portraying the brutalities of surviving life on the streets of London had me in its grip from the first page. I reacted on a visceral level to the vividly drawn personalities and setting, the elegant prose, and the tender relationship between the main characters. It is haunting and breathtakingly beautiful.

About BrandilynRC

Brandilyn is a middle-aged (When the hell did that happen?) stay-at-home mom to 3 beautiful children (of course she is biased). She started reading M/M Romance and Gay fiction in early 2012 and was quickly hooked. In her first 18 months as a M/M Romance fan, she read over 900 titles in the genre (not counting re-reads), ranging from shorts to epic novels. She reads across all tropes within the Gay Fiction genre…. except Regency, she has never found a love for Regency. A native Texan she finds Texas to the be almost perfect… except for one thing, their treatment of the GLBTQ community. This blog is her brain child and she is happy to welcome some fellow GLBTQ supporters to review here and help promote equality (oh and of course fangirl/fanboy over their favorite authors and works).

  1. I’m always reluctant to read posts like this one. Not because I’m not interested; I am, very much so. No, the reason I should probably stay away is because I already have more unread books on my Kindle than I’ll ever manage to read, and of course all of these sound as if they should join the queue. Relieved to see I already read and enjoyed one of them which leaves ‘only’ 14 more for me to check out 🙂

  2. some awesome books… I love these 2 authors, my choice would be Another Man’s Treasure by Lisa Henry and JA Rock…

  3. Looks like a great set of books. Thank you for all the recommendations. A few of these I have on my wishlist and/or TBR list already, but more books are always welcome.

  4. Great recommended reads for the month of June. I have most of these on my kindle still to be read. I would pick Anterograde. Thanks for the giveaway.

  5. I’ve read four books on this list which were all very good. Despite so many good choices, my pick would be Tequila Mockingbird by Rhys Ford. Thanks for the contest!

  6. All the books sound really good. But I’m most excited about Striker by Lexi Ander. Thank you for the chance.

  7. Great List – I already bought a few of these books based on your reviews and recommendations. The one I don’t have but most want to read is Slasherazzi by Daniel Kaine. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  8. I have read several on this list and enjoyed everyone of those. I have been wanting to read My Brother’s Lover for awhile though, so that would be my pick! Thanks for the chance to win!

  9. I’ve a few of these on my tbr and I’m looking forward to reading them. So many good books on this list! 😀

  10. I have only read Secrets of Neverwood, which I liked and Heaven Can’t Wait, which was DNF
But there are a few on that list I might have to check out 🙂

Oh and hello, new to the site via a contest thingy, it looks like a good place to lurk

  11. The only book I’ve read on this list is ‘Striker’, and it was awesome. The one I’d choose to win, is “Think of England.”
