Secrets and Lies…
Everyone has them. Big ones. Little ones.

For Trevor Mayne and Jamie Vaughn, secrets and lies are how they’ve made their fourteen year friendship work. Don’t talk about it. Ignore it and it won’t be real. Pretend like everything’s fine between the two of them.

Jamie can’t live like this anymore. He’s in love with Trevor, his best friend who just happens to be straight. Tired of hiding his feelings, he decides to walk away. From their friendship. From his hometown. From his business.

But before Jamie gets a chance to leave, a freak accident leaves Trevor with amnesia. A new blank perspective leaves him confused about the inconsistencies of what he’s told his life should be vs. the feelings that he knows he has. Now those secrets and lies, that should be safer than ever, are suddenly front and center and changing everything between them.

Their world is at risk because their secrets and lies aren’t the only ones at play here. There’s a bigger lie out there and it could just destroy everything as they get closer and closer to the secret hidden in depths of the Snowcroft forest.

My View:

In Snowcroft Lost, Christi Snow takes a soap opera-ish trope that could easily produce a cheesy story, and somehow makes it work … wonderfully! Jamie and Trevor have been friends for years, and Jamie has always been in love with Trevor. However, Trevor has waved his hetero flag proudly and hasn’t returned Jamie’s feelings – he has actually recently distanced himself from Jamie even as friends. However, when Trevor sustains a head injury and loses his memory, only Jamie is there to help him when he feels alone and confused. Soon Trevor is calling himself gay and his desire for Jamie is obvious.

Jamie and Trevor have that special chemistry that simply engrosses the reader. Jamie’s love of Trevor is seemingly boundless, and he’s surprised when Trevor begins to express his attraction to Jamie. I particularly like how the author allows the sexual tension to build between Jamie and Trevor – their making love for the first time all the sweeter for the wait.

It’s Trevor’s unwavering conviction that he’s falling in love with Jamie that makes this story special. Even in the face of tremendous family pressure (and the threat of physical violence) to deny his feelings for Jamie, Trevor accepts that he is gay and embraces his love for Jamie. Jamie also courageously puts aside his fears of being hurt to have a chance at a forever love with Trevor. There is also a story line involving Trevor’s crazy bigoted uncle that’s a little over the top, but it is undeniably intriguing and exciting.

Yes, this story is a dash fantastical, but it’s a fun and sweet read, with two characters that have great chemistry both as friends and as lovers. Their sexual relationship is also loving and deliciously hot! I highly recommend that you read this delightful story!

  1. Same here! I kept seeing reviews that made me think it ended on a cliffhanger (I HATE cliffhangers), but it sounds like it doesn’t. So yay! Up to the top of the list it goes!
