When you have loved a series as much as I have loved the first two books in The Tameness of the Wolf series it is with both excitement and trepidation that you wait for the next one. Book 3 had so much to live up to for me as the first book in this series is one of my all time favourite books MM books. Well, kudos to Kendall McKenna as this is the next perfect addition to the series.
One thing I love about the wolves in this series is their sheer power you feel from them both on and off the page. The first two books dealt with Alphas, this book deals with an Omega. The powers may be a little different but the dynamics between the characters are still intense and consuming.
Tim’s brother Adam has returned to Iraq and back to the dangerous job of driving supply trucks. The wolves on base are out of control around full moon under the rule of an ineffective pack leader. To try and solve the problems and bring the pack to order Noah has sent his Omega, Dawson Rivers, to the base to calm things down.
Adam is a solitary person and has only just started making friends on the base. He has wrapped himself up in an awful event from his past which has left him angry at the world and a difficult person to get close to. The behaviour of the wolves on base has angered him so he is surprised and not totally trusting of Dawson when he shares his plans to bring them all into line.
Kendall has once again given us another Werewolf that is strong, extremely possessive and goes straight after his man. When Adam begins to trust Dawson their relationship grows and this pair are hot together! Adam finds himself having to reach out to his brother for advice on all things Were and slowly relationships that have been damaged for years start to mend.
Once again the detail given to the military side of the story is impressive. There is also the continuation of the work being done to protect the werewolves who serve and the changes being made to keep them safe. We get to see my favourite couple again, Noah and Lucas, which is definitely a bonus.
Their lives are sent into turmoil when Adam is kidnapped. They must trust in their new and tentative relationship to stand up to the pressure.
There is something very special about this series and their characters and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
