Prism Book Alliance would like to thank Lori Toland for taking the time to talk with us today.
Author: Lori Toland
Genre/Sub-Genre: Contemporary, M/M Romance
Hi! Thanks for having me by. This is my third GRL and my second as a featured author and I’m completely thrilled to be going to Chicago this year. When I get excited, I order swag and I have a bunch of hand sanitizers to give away this year! In Albuquerque, it was screen/keyboard cleaners and for the folks who remember those fondly and want another, I may have a few saved for you.
I have lots of good memories of years past. In Atlanta, it was all about location! I came up early to see the sights and enjoy the drive. If you follow me on Facebook, you may remember Kele Moon getting lost in a cotton field (no joke, this happened!) and I was happy to arrive at the hotel to get some much needed rest.
The hotel was great but even better was going to Aquarium and I missed out on so many different places I wanted to go see. But I was really there for BOOKS! And meeting other rabid fans like me 🙂 I went as a reader and I had a fantabulous time getting to fan girl all my favorite authors. I had such a great time and ran around so much that I ended up passed out in my room face down midday on Thursday — and I hadn’t even been drinking. My roommate Kele Moon had to check on me to make sure I was okay.
In Albuquerque, which was GRL 2012, I attended as a Featured Author. On the way to the hotel, I shared a cab ride with another author and after talking to her, I had to go buy her books. That’s the great thing about GRL, is that there are little times here and there that are unexpected great memories as we all get to talk about our shared interest of reading romance. I had such a great time attending in both capacities that it was difficult to decide how I should attend this year but I was very lucky to get an author spot this year.
I’m so looking forward to meeting all of you. I may not have any paperbacks for sale at the event but I will have a few books that I’m giving away throughout the convention, so if you see me, bug me for one. You might just get lucky! No doubt, I will end up passed out in my room again from too much excitement and fangirling so if you can’t find me, Facebook message me to wake me back up again. And please point me toward the nearest coffee machine. See you very soon!
