After a rocky first few months, Stephen Parker and Russ Bishop’s relationship is at a crossroads when the death of Stephen’s father forces them to visit Stephen’s hometown in southern Georgia.
Estranged from his family, Stephen must find a way to come to terms with his past and say goodbye to the father whose expectations he could never live up to. The small, conservative town provides its own challenges as Russ realizes providing emotional support is one part of being a true partner for Stephen.

Partners is not a love story, well at least not in the traditional sense. It is the continuation and growth of the love we saw blossom in book one, Equals. It is also about forgiveness, forgetting, and moving on. It is about rising above the hatred and bigotry one faces just for existing. It is about overcoming and abandoning one’s past so that they are free to move forward. All through the eyes of Russ and Stephen, whom we met in Equals.
Partners picks up where Equals ends and takes place over the time it takes to lay to rest Stephen’s father, Bo. Through the process of returning to his home town, packing up his fathers life, and burying him, Stephen must face the ghosts of his past. He chooses to do so with Russ proudly at his side. That leads to some talk, nasty looks, and uncomfortable moments, but even those moments lead Stephen on the path he and Russ must take.
Partners does have its sexy moments along with fire and brimstone as well love and acceptance. If you enjoyed Equals, you will want to pick up Partners.
