This wandering spider will pursue his mate, knowing he’s walking into the very heart of danger.
Boone has kept it no secret that he wants Julius for his own. Hell, he’s pursued the guy relentlessly from the moment he saw an assassin lying in wait to harm Julius. Now, Boone has one mission, to go with his friend, TL, and unite the fire ants to their cause of getting loved ones and Mission Territory back. However, there’s no way Boone will leave his mate, knowing that even at the hive, Julius could be taken from him. So, now, he will have no choice but to bring the man he loves into the heart of danger.
And the war grows more fierce! Pursued by the Wandering Spider picked up where book 2 ended and carried the reader forward in the Venom vs. anti-venom saga. More creatures were introduced and recruited to the side of “good.” New evil was unveiled, including some of the so called “good guys.” I cannot wait for more. I want to see what happens next! It seems that those venoms/anti-venoms fighting for good are outnumbered and with the discoveries made about those on the other side of the war, I cannot imagine how things are going to turn out in the end. I am rooting for the MCs that we have been introduced to so far, but I am worried about their outcome.
Ms. Nacht is a very talent writer. She has me totally invested and wondering about the future of the characters. Even after finishing the novella, I continue to wonder about the next chapter. Her word and characters have stuck with me and I can’t wait for more. It is the sign of a great author, when the reader takes the characters with them beyond the pages of the story itself.
Finally, while the overall plot stole the show, there was still a good love story between these two mates. Not everything is perfect and both men are not instantly in love. There is a little drama and some apologizing/communicating first, then they end up falling in love. It is still a fast connection because of the mating instinct, but that is the norm for this series and was to be expected. I like seeing the glimpses of the previous MCs and look forward to more from them all in the next book in the series. Ms. Nacht, when exactly can we expect the next one? I am rather impatient for it already.
Oh yeah, and be warned, if you are a bit squeamish, this one has a rather creepy mutation that had me almost running for cover. But it was so worth it!
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
