Brian Hay’s only dream in life was to be part of America’s elite, yet unacknowledged, Delta Force. After years of training to be the best the 75th Ranger Regiment had ever produced, his dream was finally coming true. But what starts out as what he thinks is a Delta hazing op soon turns into much more when Brian not only becomes a Delta Force soldier but a Mad Dog.

Caroline’s View:

I recently reviewed a couple of books by this author that I really enjoyed so when the third book came in for review with Prism I asked about reviewing the entire series. I am so glad I did!
Brian Hay has achieved his dream and become part of an elite Delta team. He will be the sixth member of the team but the other five members don’t seem too happy to see him. The atmosphere when he meets them is decidedly chilly.

When he is grabbed, tied up and hooded in the night by his teammates he doesn’t panic too much as he believes this is a ritual hazing as the new boy. His thoughts couldn’t have been further from the truth, a lesson he will learn the hard way over the next few days! He has no idea but the team he has joined are not in fact Delta but Mad Dogs and to be a part of this team he needs to actually be a Mad Dog.

Becoming a Mad Dog presents Brian with numerous problems. Firstly there is the fear he feels at being stalked through a forest. Secondly there is the biting and associated sickness. Thirdly, and this is the biggie, there is what he needs to cure the sickness. There is nothing logical in what is happening to him, nothing logical in what he is feeling, nothing logical in what he slowly starts to understand he needs to do.

This book is very much a teaser into what is looking to be a very good series. The only thing I found slightly confusing was using the men’s initials but once you figure out who is who it becomes easier. If you like military, paranormal and hot and sexy men you cannot fail to like it. There is the normal bond between a pair but also a bond between all six which could lead to endless possibilities as the series progresses. It leaves us with a lot of questions which is why I am immediately moving onto book 2!
