Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars
Massage therapist Erik Morgan offers a very special after-hours service to a handful of select clients. From a young man anxious to explore his sexuality, to a stroke patient who fears he’ll never be a man again, Erik touches them all. But no one touches him. Not anymore.
Faced with a personal tragedy, Erik loses himself in helping others. Until one brave client turns the tables and gets under his skin, and Erik finds himself touched in unexpected ways.
Warning! This gay erotic romance novella is intended for an adult audience. It contains explicit scenes of erotic massage, edging, rimming, m/m sex and a vibrator or two.
My luck hasn’t been that great with erotic romance – most of the ones I’ve read have been one long sexapalooza with virtually no character development, or they’ve been eye rolling cheesy. So, my expectations weren’t terribly great when I began reading Chris Scully’s Touch Me.
Well, this jaded erotic romance reader is pleasantly surprised by the quality of the story and the depth of the characters in Touch Me. Massage therapist Erik is a remarkable character – his long time partner, George, is in the final stages of a debilitating disease, and Erik, for whom touch is such an integral part of his life, personality, and sexuality, can no longer enjoy the simple pleasure of being touched by his lover. Erik has begun offering erotic massages to some male clients, and then verbally sharing these experiences with his paralyzed partner as a way of maintaining their sexual relationship through fantasy. It is through this activity that he meets Jeremy, a sweet and intuitive young man who sees beyond Erik’s calm facade to the swirling pain within.
I cannot understate how much I like Erik. He’s deeply grieving the looming loss of his partner, and he’s so very loving with George. He doesn’t “cheat” on George by having sex with his clients, but he does help these men to achieve sexual awareness and pleasure through erotic massage and touch. He is also drawn to Jeremy’s sincerely kind spirit and evolving sexual awareness, and when Jeremy ultimately returns Erik’s gift of touch and human connection, it is the what Erik’s soul needs to survive George’s sad death. Equally amazing is the generosity and understanding Erik shows a disabled client and his wife who long to reconnect sexually and physically.
The erotic scenes in Touch Me are exceptionally written – emotionally charged and sexy, without being salacious or raunchy. But it is the lovely romance and depiction of how Erik’s raw hunger for the simple human fulfillment gained from touch that makes this story uniquely amazing.
I highly recommend the erotic romance Touch Me – It is an unforgettable story about the gentle power of human touch.
