Is it possible to fall in love from nothing more than a few phone calls and e-mails? Dr. David ‘Bear’ Berickza thinks so. Despite the distance and limited contact, Bear can only think about Travis Michaels, a fellow veterinarian in the small town of Timber Creek.
When he hears that Timber Creek is directly in the path of Hurricane Lauris, Bear makes a promise. He will be there to help Travis and his daughter, the smart-mouthed Tina, to save the abandoned animals.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and when Lauris hits, Bear and Travis find that despite their best efforts, it’s going to take more than that to save any lives, including their own.
Bear & Travis is the third book in the Storming Love series and it veers away from the ex-lovers reunited theme. This tale focuses on the animal side of a huge storm. The loss and hardships of caring for animals when human life is also in danger. I really enjoyed seeing another side of the storm. Too often we focus on the people, but forget our furry friends. It was a very sad tale in that respect.
However, the romance was great. This relationship began from afar, with the men only having contact through email and texts/phone conversations. Since they were not near each other, they got to know one another before sex even enters the equation. It made the instant attraction and love connection that much more real knowing these men have been in contact with each other for a while. It was a sweet romance with the cutest marriage proposal ever!
Finally, I loved Tina. She was a feisty one and provided some much needed comedy during the times of sadness. I love how she defended her father and how she found so much joy in his HEA.
This was a very cute and well written story. I enjoyed reading it. For something so short, it packed quite a punch.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
