Each Friday, here at Prism we will be tackling a very important topic… of sorts.  Five Thing Friday…  The topic will change each week, so be sure to check back.  We encourage you to comment with your own Five Things!

  1. Like Beverley, UK based and I like her list (dont remember cherry biters) but the sherbet fountain came to my mind too! My nana used to buy us a selection bag each week – had a comic, toy and sweets in it. The plasticy space ships filled with sherbet were a favourite too.

    • I’m sure we used to have ‘bags’ like that called Jamboree Bags and I think Josie mentioned Flying Saucers yum rice paper filled with sherbet. Sherbet Fountains! Oh and those coconut mushrooms made of goodness know what but delicious…

  2. Sweetarts
    Bottle Caps
    Pixy Stix-giant red ones
Super Bubble- green apple, long stick
Jolly Rancher-green apple (the long flat ribbon)

  3. Ones that aren’t around I don’t think are Marathon Bars and Chocolate cigarettes, the others are Pop Rocks, Gobstoppers and the little wax bottles filled with sugar liquid (Nips?).

  4. I wasn’t much of a candy kid although I loved gum. I loved the wax sticks with some horrible sugary liquid in them (I think mainly because I got to chew the wax, I really was a gum fanatic). But the Flying Saucers I adored! I found them recently and bought a bag just for the memories. Although I never cared for the candy inside, I just liked the saucer part. 🙂
