Prequel to Finally Home …

Krung Thep City of Angels Title: Krung Thep, City of Angels

Author: Zee Kensington

Publisher: Dreamspinner Press

Cover Artist: Paul Richmond

Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars

Marco finds himself in over his head when he chooses Bangkok—Krung Thep to the locals—as his first solo travel destination. Luckily, seasoned travel journalist Chris takes Marco under his wing. Over one whirlwind day, the two Americans realize they have more in common than their homeland. Chris’s role changes from tour guide to mentor as he encourages Marco to embrace his budding identity as a gay man, and their camaraderie blossoms into romance. However, their newly forged connection is threatened by Chris’s career obligations—and unwillingness to change his solitary ways.

Leisa’s View:

This prequel to Zee Kensington’s book, Finally Home, tells the story of how travelers Marco and Chris meet while in Bangkok. Marco is sweetly naive, and his simple joy to finally be living his dream of traveling the world is endearing. Chris is a seasoned traveler who enjoys having his weary outlook renewed through Marco’s enthusiasm. Chris’ introduction of Marco to Bangkok’s secrets is interesting, but the story of Marco embracing himself as a gay man is the true delight. Chris is kind and romantic with Marco, and his introduction of Marco to the joys of sex between men is perfect. However, it is Chris’ realization that Marco, with his innocent enthusiasm, is vital to Chris recapturing his own life passion that is so amazing. Together, these men take the first tentative steps of a new sweet romance.

This prequel is very well written, and is the perfect enticement to read Finally Home, the story of how Marco and Chris’s relationship develops and their love grows.
