When a funeral calls his friend Martin away, sunbelt resident Chris is left alone in Martin’s cabin in the dead of winter – and in a blizzard to boot. When the power goes out, Chris thinks he’s going to freeze to death. Luckily, Horace drops in to check on him – and then runs out after a few kisses, leaving Chris upset and feeling used. Horace does come back with explanations, but is their time together keeping each other warm enough for them see they belong together? Or are these sudden emotions the product of being snowbound?
My View – Story:
A sweet holiday tale of insta-love where you least expect it. If you are a fan of Andrew Grey and Christmas novellas, Snowbound in Nowhere is a good combination for you. Chris and Horace are there to show us that not only can opposites attract, they can create heat and fire in the snow.
If Snowbound was not a holiday tale, I don’t know that I would have been as forgiving of the seemingly insurmountable differences between the main characters, but we all want a little magic at Christmas. Another worthy addition to my holiday reading.
My View – Narration:
While the narrator was relatively easy to listen to, I found his reading bordering on monotonous. I had to bump up the speed in order to not be frustrated by the pacing. This is not terribly unusual for me, but I, usually, don’t have to bump it all the way up to 3x for the narrator to sound something close to normal.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the audiobook of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
