When Lucien’s past catches up to him, he’ll have to do more than just ride out the storm.
Lucien was forced to walk away from love years ago, so when fate offers him a second chance, he grasps it with both hands and refuses to let go.
Perry has changed a lot since they last saw each other, including the fact that he is now a falcon shapeshifter who has spent the past few years enslaved to a mutual enemy. What hasn’t changed, though, is the feelings that burn between them.
When Perry’s ex-captors decide they want him back, leaving little trace of the abduction behind, Lucien has to learn that just weathering a storm isn’t always enough. Sometimes, you need to ride the lightning, too.
Ms. Cross! How could you! Just leave me hanging like that. Not cool, Not Cool at all! Morgan!! I need to know what is happening to Morgan ASAP! Good thing his story is being released soon, but that was mean of you to leave me hanging like that. HA, of course I mean this in the nicest way. Great job by the author on keeping me interested and wanting more. It is a great way to ensure the life of this series.
The Mating in this story is a bit different than the rest in that it is former lovers reuniting. It is sweet and easy. It is HOT just like the others, don’t get me wrong, but this mating was pretty much angst free. It was very satisfying and I loved the way Lucien’s dad gave his mate the gift of immunity to Lucien’s powers.
However, it was not the mating that held my interest this time. It was the intense action and awesome imagery. When Lucien channels his father’s power and turns berserker, it was amazing to read. I could see the red glowing eyes, I could see Lucian using his swords to throw the lightning, I could see him calling the storm. It was some very vivid storytelling that was so well written. I loved it.
If you have read the others and thought that was war was getting real before, well this one just upped the realness another notch. Denzel is escalating in his boldness and now there are missing mates and a missing guardian. Like Grace says, “Don’t get between and elf and her mate!” I am so eager to see what happens next. It is about time for Dezel to get his ass kicked and for Toby to reappear. I need some more questions answered ASAP! Bring on Morgan’s story!
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
