Bianca worries that her daddy, Gavin, is lonely and decides he needs a boyfriend for Christmas. So she enlists her father’s best friend, the straight and unattached Curtis. Gavin has a Christmas wish, too, and Curtis setting him up on disastrous dates isn’t part of it! Meanwhile, Curtis finds life becoming complicated as he tries to please Bianca, make Gavin happy, and fend off his own unexpected mixed feelings. Will anyone’s wish come true?
My View – Story:
If you have read my other reviews you know I am a sucker for stories with friends to lovers and stories with children. This had both and was such a cute holiday story. I loved the characters and the plot itself. I love how the author portrayed the dating and how the dates are what showed that the friends were perfect for each other.
The internal monologues were cute and informative without being out of place. The whole story had an upbeat and fun feel even when some of the dates were not that great. Even through the struggles to come to grips with what was happening, this story was overwhelmingly happy. Bianca was adorable and her “plan” was perfectly executed.
I really enjoyed this one and am now in the mood for more happy holiday tales.
My View – Narration:
I totally love Paul Morey as a voice actor. He did a fantastic job with this story. The voices were great and the emotion was spot on. And OMG can the man talk fast, for long periods, without taking a breath. He nailed that character!
