When Donovan Ramsey comes home from yet another business trip he realizes he and his long-term boyfriend, Nate Pearson, have drifted apart. Donovan is used to engineering solutions in his career, but he’s stumped on how to fix his dwindling sexual relationship with Nate.

After a late night internet search, Donovan finds a place that might be exactly what they need to rekindle the romance in their relationship. There’s just one catch: the idyllic Cooper Mountain Bed and Breakfast specializes in BDSM for couples.

Over the course of the weekend, the two men experience a taste of what the BDSM lifestyle has to offer. Will that taste lead to a stronger connection between Nate and Donovan, or will it ultimately be their undoing?

Be Warned: m/m sex, BDSM, public exhibition

Caroline’s View:

I really enjoyed this short story; it was a unique look into the BDSM lifestyle with both MC’s starting out with absolutely no knowledge.

Donovan and Nate have been together for five years and are very much in love but like so often happens real life takes over and things begin to slip. It’s not a story filled with angst but a more a gentle realisation that things have lost their sparkle and that perhaps it’s time that their personal lives and all the intimacy that that involves is given precedence.

With that in mind Donovan books a weekend retreat with the BDSM beginner’s course as optional extra. He is so worried about how Nate will react or that he may balk at the idea that he keeps it secret and this is probably the only instance of miscommunication between the pair in the whole story. Nate isn’t used to secrets and starts to worry.

On arrival Nate finally finds out why Donovan has been so secretive. He trusts his partner implicitly and agrees to at least give one of the classes a go.

This is a very gentle introduction into the BDSM lifestyle aimed towards two men that have no experience whatsoever. It revolved around trust and love more than the actual process of a scene and again you are left with a picture of just how in tune these two men are. The scenes although kept very simple were also very hot!

My only criticism is that it could have done with another proofread there were a few errors that took me out of the story. That said I was quickly taken with Donovan and Nate, I enjoyed their story and would love to hear more from them.
