Don meets Trevor when he goes home for the holidays. Could a long distance romance be his holiday wish come true?
Donald Bradley is home for the holidays. While running an errand for his mother, he meets Trevor Oxford, who is everything Don could ask for in a man. However, Don does not intend to have any type of relationship with him. Trevor lives and works in the small town and Don lives two hundred miles away in the city. Trevor is confident and aggressive in his pursuit of Don, who is confused by Trevor’s attentiveness. Don wants to run away from Trevor and run to him at the same time.
Could a long distance romance be just what Don needs to start the New Year? Will Don accept what Trevor has to offer, giving him what he really wants this holiday season?
Publisher’s Note: This book was previously published elsewhere. It has been revised and re-edited for release with Totally Bound Publishing.
It took me four starts to get finally through Him for the Holidays by Jaxx Steele. I wish I could say it was just my mood, but, unfortunately, when I did get through the book I was just a disconnected from it as when I started. And this from someone who can’t get enough of Christmas stories.
Him for the Holidays is supposed to be a heartwarming tell of overcoming adversity and finding one’s way out into the world. It is supposed to be one man’s journey out of solitude and into a relationship, helped along by a meddling parent and sister. It is supposed to show the power of family and love. What we are given, however, is a confusing story line, characters so thin I can barely classify them as caricatures, inappropriately places sex scenes, borderline non-con (with the aid of family), and a happily ever after I don’t even know that I believe, much less connect with.
I wanted to be able to introduce you to a new to me author with a sweet holiday tale. This is not a story for that; at least not for me. Your mileage may vary.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
