After a car accident, Adam wakes up in a hospital room with no memory and a man named Joe, who acts like his boyfriend. So when Joe says Adam is straight—and Joe’s not—and they’re just best friends and roommates, Adam is more than a little confused. But as Adam starts to fill in the gaps, the one thing that becomes apparent is that Joe is the missing piece that can’t be replaced.
My View – Story:
I really liked this short story. I was drawn in from the very beginning and was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going on between Adam and Joe. There was obviously more going on than what the reader knew at the beginning. The author did a good job using the amnesia to slowly reveal the details that made this ending so enjoyable. I could really feel Joe’s emotions and I loved Adam’s bold coming out. I want more from these men. Oh and Yay! There is a second story in this series.
I also loved Joe’s big, Italian family. They helped give this story a fun and loving feel. A story about amnesia and being in an accident, could have been very serious and dark, but the author kept this light and easy to read.
My View – Narration:
Jeff Gelder did a good job with this narration. His voice was clear and was perfect for the feel of this story. He did a good job portraying the light feeling and the emotions of the characters.
