Showing Our Butts (Again):

Yes, your friendly neighborhood silly authors are at it again. After the successes (and excesses) of Butt Pirates in Space and Butt Ninjas from Hell, we’ve decided to take on the holiday season this time around with Butt Babes in Boyland. We’ve got six stories for your reading pleasure, all of them centered around two things: the holidays and toys, both of a decidedly adult nature.

My contribution, “The Half-Life of Pumpkin Pie,” is a holiday crossover story that takes place the day after Thanksgiving. The blurb:

Wil Johnson’s holiday season is off to a crappy start: the pie he takes to Thanksgiving dinner bombs, and then he gets word his payment at the bakery didn’t go through. Things start looking up when he goes to the shop to pay up and comes face-to-face with Vin Hammel. Vin, who’s been trying to get up the nerve to ask Wil out for a while, invites Wil to a toy-themed holiday party, but when the pair arrive, they find the toys aren’t exactly what they expected.

This story grew out of the title, which popped into my head one day and made me grin at the wordplay of it. I had the title in my files for a while, but when we started talking about a holiday-themed butts anthology, I knew that’s where it needed to go. Wil and Vin took it from there!

Here are the full anthology blurb and the complete story list:

The holidays are a time for visiting with family and friends, and sharing tales of peace, childlike innocence, and good will towards all mankind. These are not those stories. Instead, sit back and allow yourself to be regaled with the colorful adventures of toy-themed parties with a twist, the future of Elf Enforcement, misfit sex toys at the North Pole, the mysterious Workshop 69, special delivery packages, and a serious case of potentially mistaken identity. This year, the Butt-thology authors cordially invite you to join them in creating a new tradition.

This holiday season, it’s not just turkeys getting stuffed!

“For Fox Sake” by T.C. Blue

“Special Package” by Jevocas Green

“Elf Confidence” by Kiernan Kelly

I’m a big fan of holiday stories in general. I’ve written several myself, including “Sharing Christmas” and “Of Holiday Spirits, Wake-Up Calls, and Happily Ever Afters” (another fun title!) for the Dreamspinner Press Advent Calendar. That set is a great source every year for favorite stories, and I’m looking forward to checking out some of the new ones this December.

But I’m always looking more story recommendations! What are your favorite holiday-themed stories? Feel free to pimp out your own. I’m all about the shameless self-promotion!

About the Author:

Shae ConnorShae Connor lives in Atlanta, where she’s a lackadaisical government worker for a living and writes sweet-hot romance under the cover of night. She’s been making things up for as long as she can remember, but it took her a long time to figure out that maybe she should try writing them down. She’s conned several companies into publishing her work and adds a new notch on her bedpost each time another story is unleashed onto an unsuspecting universe.

A member of the Romance Writers of America and the Rainbow Writers chapter, Shae was first published in 2010 and has a lineup of short stories, novellas, and novels available. Her second novel, Unfortunate Son, will be released January 12, 2015, by Dreamspinner Press.

Shae is part Jersey, part Irish, and all Southern, which explains why she never shuts up. When she’s not chained to her laptop, she enjoys cooking, traveling, watching baseball, and reading voraciously, and she’s an annual volunteer for the Dragon Con on-site publication, the Daily Dragon. You can find her hanging out on Twitter most any time @shaeconnor, but for the more direct route, you can email her at or visit her website at
