A wrong number with a sexy voice on the other end… What are the chances a regular guy has just hooked the hottest actor on the silver screen?
Ryan Pierce is in town shooting the latest romantic action movie and attending all the right publicity parties. He wasn’t expecting to pick up the phone to an easy laugh and real conversation. So, when he discovers that his caller has misdialed, it surprises him even more that he doesn’t want the man to hang up.
Dar Phillips is the last man to get star-struck, yet his best friend drags him out to be an extra on a movie set. It’s a chance to meet the guy on the set who he accidently called, but he has to admit the lead actor is hot stuff. Could the loping mega-star be his phone-a-friend? And, when they kiss, is Dar ready for the paparazzi and accusations of betrayal by the man who now stars in Dar’s every dream?
Who did Dar fall for? The elusive Ryan Pierce, who can’t be seen with him, or the quiet, gentle man who’s just a phone call away?

Ever read a story and feel like you missed something along the way? Some detail or action that was so important, without it you just don’t understand the rest of the book? Well, that is exactly how I felt reading Wrong Number, Right Guy by Mia Watts.

It started out weird for me and then only got worse. The opening chapter was supposed to set the tone for the rest of the book, and it did, but I don’t think it achieved what the author was aiming for. A “secret” jack-off session while talking to a sexy voiced stranger was not exactly on the up and up for me. It veered left of HOT and landed a bit in the realm of creepy.

From there, the story turned unrealistic. The rate at which these men turned from strangers to lovers to in love was speed of light fast. These men had never met in person and were already talking relationship. Dar willingly entered the cabin of his mystery phone man without having told anyone where he was or any real thought to personal safety. This smacks of serial killer/abduction/stalker territory. Then, after their very first meeting, they were fighting because Ryan wouldn’t come out for a man he JUST MET and Dar stormed off convinced his love was one sided. What love? You just met this man in person and have only spoken to him on the phone twice! And he lied to you about who he was! grrrr……

Finally, mountains of cheese appeared to “soften” the instalove by injecting flowery prose designed to imitate true feelings. It was too much and I just couldn’t get into it. Oh and I really want to know what “movie star grade cock” looks like and how exactly said cock “melts.”

However, I do want to clarify something. While I struggled to get through this story as it stands now, it had great potential. This ties everything back to my original statement of feeling lost. I really believe that I had such a hard time with this one simply because the details of the love story appeared to be missing. I was not privileged to some of the same character growth and relationship development that the author was. And this was reflected in the choppy nature of the story and the fact that I felt confused the entire time. This story felt very much like an outline that needed more meat. If the author had fleshed it out more, and included the details on how the men got from point A to B, I think I would have enjoyed this story. It was a light, low angst tale that could have been an easy and enjoyable read. Sadly, it did not deliver on its promises and I cannot recommend this one to readers as it stands right now.
