This is a short introduction to brother’s Alexander and Jeremiah LaFon that packs a punch as we learn just how disturbed their relationship is as they grow up.
If you look up the word sadist in the dictionary its description is nowhere near strong enough to describe Jeremiah who seems evil to the core.
The story is told in flashbacks as Jeremiah, or Miah as we come to know him, tortures and abuses his younger brother in a bid to keep him close and compliant.
The abuse is varied but always intense and when they reach their teenage years it becomes sexual.
When Miah steps over a line Alexander runs and manages to stay hidden for many years. During that time Miah is consumed with finding him, along with his sadism he has a healthy dose of obsession with his younger brother, and as we find out will go to any lengths required to obtain what he believes is rightfully his.
The interesting side to this is that although Alexander is terrified he is also turned on. Miah should be the person everyone despises but I have a feeling he will become a villain we love and I can’t wait to see what Joseph gives us in the next instalment.
