In the year 2071, the war has reached a turning point for the rebel army, the Freelanders. As they battle the InterNations government, the Freelanders vow to fight to the last man—and there are fewer and fewer men . . .

Tough rebel soldier Darke has lost a lot in the war: his family . . . his friends . . . his lovers. His only respite from heartbreak and grief is the tender moments he spends with Leon, a brave warrior who has proven himself countless times on the battlefield. Fearful of getting hurt again, Darke tries to ignore their undeniable attraction . . .

When Leon is seized by the enemy and infected with a deadly virus, he becomes a walking time bomb set to wipe out the entire rebel population. With time running out for Leon and the Freelanders, Darke must face his feelings for Leon and race to find a cure.

1. We are here today to talk about Under His Guard. What can you tell us about it?

Under His Guard is a sexy, action packed adventure with all the beloved characters from the series. Darke and Leon’s romance has been building through the previous two books, alongside the Revolution. It all comes to a head in a race against time.

2. Tell us more about Darke and Leon?

Oh, I love these two men. Both are soldiers, and possess the same qualities—honor, pride, passion—yet they couldn’t be more opposite. Darke is intense, single-minded, and scared to fall in love again. Leon is outgoing, flirtatious, and always wears his heart on his sleeve. When the two come together, it’s explosive.

3. What about Under His Guard makes you the most proud?

I’m most proud of the fact that as the last book in the series I believe I’ve given readers everything they could possibly want.

4. If you could give one piece of advice to aspiring writers, what would it be?

Treat writing as a business, not just a creative outlet.

5. Under His Guard is the 3rd book in the Don’t Tell Series. Books 1 and 3 are M/M and Book 2 is M/F. Many of our readers don’t read Het. What can you tell them about the series to encourage them to read the entire series?

To be honest, there is a M/M romance in each of the books. On Her Watch focuses on Liz and Linc, but the strong secondary story is about the beginnings of Darke and Leon’s romance. The series arc—the Revolution—runs through and escalates in each of the novels.

6. What is the nicest thing you have had a reader say to you in a review, email, or social media?

I received a message from a reader last year regarding one of my other novels. She had undergone the same tragedy as my character, and she wanted to tell me I’d handled it truthfully, and sensitively. She thanked me for putting it into words.

7. What are you reading right now and what is next on your to-be-read list?

I just getting ready to read Love Starts with Z by Tera Shanley. It’s an ARC and I’m so excited. Zombies! After that, I am going to read something by Susan Mac Nicol. She’s a M/M writer a mutual friend recommended to me.

8. Rapid Fire Time

  • Red or White? Red!
  • Any Tattoos or piercings? No ink. Boring ear piercings only. Sorry, folks!
  • Country or City? City mouse during the week. Country mouse on the weekend. (If I could afford two houses)
  • Porsche or Prius? Prius in reality. Porsche in my mind.
  • Vodka or Tequila? Scotch! I don’t drink clear spirits.
  • Vanilla or Chocolate? Chocolate.
  • Fire or Ice? Fire.
  • Music or TV/Movies? Music, most definitely.

9. What are you working on? What is next?

My agent has just started submitting my brand new M/M boxer series! I’m very excited to see that come to fruition. In the meantime, I’m working my little butt off on my Carolina Bad Boys series—with three books already released since September, I have another four to five planned through the summer.

  1. Interesting interview the book sounds different, Apocalyptic/dystopian books are one of my favourite genre’s.

  2. I really like the premise in this book. I haven’t read the previous ones and I don’t think I’d be interested in reading book 2. I do not read M/F…At all. Now not sure if by skipping it I’d be missing on much of the story that culminates in book 3. Thanks for the giveaway and much success!

  3. The title, cover and blurb look so intriguing and I would enjoy following along with the characters journey to see if they can get a cure in time for Leon. Another title (& author) to add to my wish list 🙂

Thank you for a chance to win a copy of this book.
