Fresh powder snow and running water in the Colorado back country call Lon like the moon calls the wolves. Belly-sliding to a good time on the weekends makes up for a workweek at a desk, and meeting Corey adds a whole new level of fun to snowboarding.
It’s easy to slip away for time alone in the woods without raising suspicion, but how’s Lon to entertain himself when bad snow and a worse spill force them off the mountain too early?
Never give an otter a box of Cheerios.

OK, so how did this review come about? Well, I posted a video of two very cute baby otters on my facebook account. Seeing this video, the famous (infamous?) Mrs. Condit recommended this story to me. I may have pushed back a bit, because my TBR list is out of hand, but Mrs. Condit viciously twisted my arm and forced me to move this one to the top of my list!!!! lol Not really. But she did convince me to pick this one up and I am glad I did.
Tail Slide was a very cute and unique novella. It was a fresh perspective on the shifter theme with the focus being the playful otter. I love that when Lon shifted, his otter took over, and the author presented his otter in a manner that mimicked what we all imagine is going through cute animal heads as they play and have fun. The romance was cute, but the playful otter stole the show. The humor was perfect and I really enjoyed the trip into the mind of Lon in his otter form.
There was a good bit of snowboarder/skier jargon that I am unfamiliar with. This slowed me down while I figured out or looked up what it meant. For me, it was a disruption, but for those of you versed in this language, you will enjoy it.
Overall, Tail Slide was short and sweet and did not take itself seriously. It was just the pick me up I needed to provided some chuckles and a quick escape from reality. I hear there is a sequel in the works and I will be picking that one up as well.
