Since losing their beloved third to cancer, Keith Masters and Johnny Lou Reed haven’t thought about filling the void in their lives with anyone else. Until a stormy Christmas Eve, when a half-frozen, newly discharged Army Ranger shows up on their doorstep—with no memory of who he is or how he got there.
The former Marine in Keith is suspicious that he can’t turn up any information about Shane anywhere, not even an address. Direct questioning will have to wait until they’ve gotten the boy well.
Shane knows it’s only a matter of time before Keith and Reed figure out his past. And when they learn the depth and the darkness of the secrets he holds, he could get them all killed.
In the heat of the dark winter nights, the three men discover a passion that heals the gaping wounds in their hearts. And Shane wonders, despite the danger hot on his heels, how he will ever bear to leave…
Keith and Reed have been together for years and are both retired military personnel working for the private sector and undertaking dark and dangerous missions. It has only been the two of them for the last year as the third member of their relationship passed away. It was originally Bobby and Keith as a couple until Reed literally stumbled through their door one snowy evening.
Roll on nearly a decade and another man has landed on their doorstep on an equally snowy night and is in need of obvious help. Aside from his injuries and fever Shane is clearly running from something or someone and in need of help. When his fever turns to pneumonia he ends up stuck in one place for far longer than he expected.
Shane is not at all honest with the two men who are caring for him but Keith especially is no one’s fool and quickly figures there has to be more to his story than he is telling. Shane is actually being stalked and is in a lot of danger and by just staying at the house he is putting the other two men’s lives at risk.
After weeks together their relationship becomes sexual and whereas I loved the first ménage in this series I didn’t love this one as much. There are hints of BDSM but nothing too heavy but it just felt a little unbalanced. Reed who was the one pushing to bring Shane in and seemed to end up struggling the most when it happened.
When Shane has finally had time to stop and think he realises he needs to tackle the problem of his stalker head on. The man out to get him is highly dangerous and Shane needs all his new friends if he is to beat the guy at his own game.
Not my favourite of the series but still full of action, alpha males and a hot ménage.
