Wil Rice has been a Dom for over ten years, but he has yet to find the perfect submissive to share his dark desires. Maybe he wants too much. He’s looking for the whole package—a partner, a lover, a man who will trust him enough to surrender body and mind.
Wil plays at an underground sex party, and a scene with Aiden Murphy convinces him that he’s found his submissive. But Aiden belongs to someone else—a sadistic police chief who’s not about to give up his property. Wil knows he should walk away, but he’s hooked. He can’t get Aiden out of his head, and he’ll do anything to get his hands on the boy again.
I liked the premise of this story. An experienced Dom who was tired of settling for something mediocre in his life. With the issues of the Police coming down hard on anything perceived as kinky there were less places to go to find what you were looking for and all Wil Rice wants is a submissive that is perfect for him. A man that can be lover, friend and submissive – he wants “the one”.
He actually finds him at a party at a warehouse but there is a lot more than meets the eye going on with the local Police Chief involved. The very conservative Police Chief who is responsible for closing down the clubs, the very sadistic Police Chief who deems the beautiful submissive, Aiden Murphy, as his own.
After just one scene both men feel a connection but they are brutally separated from each other and Wil has no idea how to find the other man, he certainly can’t afford to live under the wrath of the local law enforcement. With some clever manoeuvring he manages to find Aiden but for me the whole connection between them was too quick. It was insta-love even though one of them had just been rescued from a terrifying situation and was covered in bruises from the abuse he had suffered, they barely knew each other, had spent very little time together yet they were declaring their love for each within hours. It just felt a little rushed.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
