Collars and Cuffs: Book Two
Christmas is a time for goodwill to all, but Collars and Cuffs co-owner Thomas Williams receives an unexpected gift that chills him to the bone. A Dom from another Manchester club asks Thomas for his help rescuing an abused submissive, Peter Nicholson. Thomas takes in the young man as a favor to a friend, offering space and time to heal, but he makes it clear he’s never had a sub and doesn’t want one.
Peter finds Thomas’s home calm and peaceful, but his past has left him unwilling to trust another Dom. When Thomas doesn’t behave as Peter expects, Peter’s nightmares begin to fade, and he decides he’d like to learn more about D/s life. A well-known trainer of submissives, Thomas begins to teach Peter, but as the new submissive opens up to him, Thomas finds he cares more for Peter than he should. Just as he decides it’s time to find a permanent Dom for Peter, they discover Peter’s tormentor is still very much a threat. With their lives in danger, Thomas can’t deny his feelings for Peter any longer. The question now becomes, can Peter make it out of the lions’ den alive, so that Thomas can tell his boy that he loves him?
My View – Story:
If you have come the second book of Collars and Cuffs looking for a story packed with hot sex and BDSM you are in the wrong place. If you want to read a tender story about an abused submissive under the care of a much older Dom who is very set in his ways then carry on.
You cannot help but want to stand in Peter’s corner and fight for him as soon as you start this story. He has not only been horrendously abused both physically and mentally but his gift of submission has been stomped all over by someone who has no right to go by the title Master. Although his bruises may heal quickly it will be a long time before he ever feels safe.
When another Dom notices how cowed Peter is and how terrified he seems to be of ‘Master’ Curtis he takes it upon himself to plan a daring rescue. Finding Peter chained and caged confirms his worst suspicions and he spirits him away in the middle of the night.
Thomas is co-owner of Collars and Cuffs and has no desire for his own sub preferring to keep busy with his work that involves training other Doms and Subs.
He agrees to care for Peter and work with him until he figures out what he wants from his new found freedom.
This is a story that follows Peter’s recovery as he finds a bit of confidence in himself and starts to heal. Thomas is patient with him and often guides him when the world becomes overwhelming. The rebirth that Thomas gave him was particularly poignant and seemed to be a huge turning point for both of them. They build a friendship based on respect and trust not expecting anything else to come of it, especially as Thomas can’t get past the 30 year age gap.
Curtis is far more evil and depraved than anyone first thought and will stop at nothing to get Peter back and protect his business. Only with Peter’s safety on the line does Thomas finally realise how much this young and gentle soul has come to mean to him and how much he will fight to keep him.
This is a perfect hurt /comfort story!
My View – Narration:
As in the first book Nick J Russo is very clear in his narration and easy to listen to but I felt he made Peter sound about twelve with the inflection his placed on his voice.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the audiobook of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
