Coal Davis is a horse rancher who has been raised in a family where money and power have ruled her life, and not in a good way. She has returned home after her grandparents’ death to accept a new family role that she does not want. Unfortunately, that role requires her to have to deal with her father or risk the loss of a program that sick children depend upon.
Jay DiAngelo is the contractor hired to work on the home Coal Davis has inherited. With her dark hair and honey eyes, being a contractor isn’t her only skill. She lives from paycheck to paycheck trying to pay off a debt that could cost her a home that is very special to her. Working in the town of Woodside is a risk, since a relative has tarnished her family name. But pride is everything to Jay, and since she’d never ask for a handout, she’d rather take the risk and chance going hungry than beg for help.
Both have a lot to lose. A relationship would be risky, but if they can overcome the obstacles keeping them apart, they could build something priceless.
Riding off into the sunset
In this latest offering from L.T. Marie comes the tale of Coal Davis, the daughter of a very close minded superior court judge and Jay DiAngelo a contractor who has been hired to work on Coal’s home. Can they build a future together or will the judge succeed in breaking his daughter once and for all?
The technical side of the book, the edits, flow, grammar etc. were just fine, no problems at all. The story itself was wonderful, sweet and so steamy sexy!
Both of these women have deep seated hurts and things they want to hide from the world. Coal and Jay are so easy to care about. Its really easy to sympathize with them as well, especially with everything that’s going on in the real world these days.
Ms Marie has a way of turning words into emotion, happy and sad and everywhere in between. I found myself on the verge of tears several times, grinning like a fool at others and just downright excited and bouncy at others, so much fun.
The ending was perfect, even better than I could have imagined. It tied everything together beautifully, just wow and yay and awww. Thank you so very much Ms Marie!
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
