Dancer Kai is the sweetheart of Blue Boy Studio. Cute and petite, he’s the slender bottom every top loves to pound. But nothing is ever quite as it seems, and beneath his golden curls and giggles lies something else…an edge no one can quite put their finger on.
Is Kai bored? Or does he crave something more?
Blue Boy Studio is under new ownership. Veteran porn star Jude has seen it all before, and with the help of Kai’s mentor, Cam, they figure Kai needs a change. Enter Matthew, a fellow dancer and the newbie on the block.
Kai isn’t impressed. Matthew is hot, but Jude and Cam’s plans seem beyond his reach. Can Kai really do…that? He doesn’t believe it, but with Matthew along for the ride, it’s time to be bold and find out.
I will admit, porn stars stories are not usually my favorite. However, I have enjoyed the Blue Boy series from Garrett Leigh quite a bit. The latest installment in the series is Bold. It is the story of Kai and Matthew.
Kai is the bottom boy that Levi initiates in book one and Cam turns soft for on screen in book two. We needed his story, and here it is. Matt is another actor in the Blue Boy stable. Like Cam, he was a boy toy of the former Blue Boy studio owner, John. We really don’t get any more information than that about that relationship.
Matt and Kai’s relationship is a bit contrived. They are being put together for a one-off scene (anyone else recognize the plot device?) and along the way they fall in love. Not that either one will call it as such. Then Kai’s jealousy gets in the way, and he cuts all contact with Matt. While I appreciate the need to add conflict to their otherwise sweet and easy relationship, I found it a little bit of a reach.
Overall, I enjoyed Kai and Matt’s story, but it certainly isn’t my favorite of the series. I enjoyed getting to know a little about Jude and Mac, but wouldn’t mind a longer version of their story at some point. We also saw some of Levi and Sonny’s relationship woes. I would love to have another Levi/Sonny book as right now, I am still not sure they have an HEA in their future.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
