Still living with the memories of his mother’s death and subjected to the violent abuse from his stepdad, Jay almost loses his mind when he’s attacked by his childhood bully who turns into a bear. One identical to the grizzly bear that killed his mother years ago. The last thing he needs is to find out that Pack Valley is much weirder than it seems and that his first love Kyle and his family have a tendency to purr.
Everything crashes together one night—from bullies and abusers getting what they deserve to a black jaguar protecting and claiming his mate. Can Jay deal with being claimed by his best friend or will fear of rejection stop him taking a chance?
This book was previously published with another publisher.
Jaguar Mate is a light and fluffy start to what is promising to be a fairly serious series. Jay and Kyle are fated mates. Only Jay doesn’t know that shifters exist. After being attacked by an old enemy Kyle and his family ride to his rescue… in Jaguar form. Secrets are revealed, and lots of sex is had.
I will admit, I didn’t have very high hopes for this series. I am a little jaded, I guess. However, I fell in love with Jay and Kyle from the start. They are just so earnest in their feeling for each other and their desire to be together. Kyle is great at alleviating Jay’s feelings of inadequacy and inferiority. Jay is so willing to open up to Kyle and make the relationship work.
Kyle’s parents are pretty epic, and I look forward to getting to know these four as the series progresses. If you are just looking for a light and fun fated mates story, you might be able to stop at just Jaguar Mate, however, I know there is so much more the Jay and Kyle’s story that I am looking forward to the next installment.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
