1. We are here today to talk about your MM series Sexy To Go and Class. What can you tell us about it?
Thanks for having me today. At the beginning of the year I joined a group of authors interested in releasing monthly collections of short, erotic stories. The bundles are published under the title Sexy To Go, and each month we put together works from 8-10 authors. I have stories in the January, February, and March editions so far. In Volume 2, I have an original MM short called “An Arresting Development,” about a gaming geek who hooks up with a cop, and in Volume 3 I’ll have another MM short, called “He’s So Sly,” about two men who’ve always loved his other finally getting their stars aligned.
The Class in Session series in one I write for Decadent Publishing. The two stories out so far – A Different Class and A Class Act – are part of Decadent’s 1Night Stand imprint. In each, Madame Eve match-makes men who have prior connections but have yet to realize their passion.
2. Tell us more about the main characters?
In “Arresting Development”, Wynton is a shy one. He proudly wears his geek badge and enjoys hanging with friends, though he gets lonely. Mitch comes off as arrogant in the beginning but it’s probably because he’s been out of practice in the wooing department. When you suspect he’s the dominant of the two, you get a nice surprise later in the story.
In “A Class Act”, Paul is an actor on the rise. He can have anything he wants now, but he desires a night of passion with his old drama teacher, Barry. Paul crushed on Barry for years, and now that he’s older and wiser he’s ready to show how much he appreciated his teacher’s guidance, and good looks.
3. What about these two series make you the proudest?
For the Class series, I wanted to show I could write a series and keep the stories fresh. I’m currently working on the third installment and hope it works with the other two.
For the Sexy to Go stories, I like the idea of fixed deadlines and this series is helping me to work better on a schedule.
4. If you could give one piece of advice to aspiring writers, what would it be?
Write for yourself, and enjoy it. Don’t think about money or lists or reviews. Write for the enjoyment of it.
5. What’s the best thing you’ve ever had someone say about one of your books in an email or review?
I received a nice email from a reader last year, hoping I would write a follow up to a particular story. It flattered me to know somebody enjoyed the story enough to want to see more of it.
6. What one story made you lose sleep as a kid?
Not actually a book, but a movie. “The Day After” scared the heck out of me. We watch the war news on TV now, but when I grew up we forever had that threat of “are they going to push button” hanging over us.
7. What are you reading right now and what is next on your to-be-read list?
I am reading a book called “The Dowry Bride” by Shobhan Bantwal for a reading challenge. It’s about a woman trying to escape a marriage turned sour. Next up is Stephen King’s Revival, which has been on my TBR for a while.
8. Rapid Fire Time
- Handcuffs or Rope? – Handcuffs
- Lucky Charms or Trix? – Lucky Charms. I love those little marshmallows.
- Starbucks or small cafe? – Tough one. I do patronize the small cafes here when I can. I’ll
- go there for regular coffee.
- Christmas or Halloween? – Halloween. It isn’t as cold.
- Tea, hot or iced? – Earl Grey. Hot.
- Night or Day? – I do all my best work at night.
- Harry Potter or Lord of The Rings? – Ouch. I will lean toward LoTR here because I did enjoy the books.
- Sweet or Sour? – Sweet, but I do favor savory too.
- Mini Van or SUV? – SUV, more room for lugging books.
- Love or Money? – I have plenty of love, so I’ll hang onto it.
9. What are you working on? What is next?
I recently finished an F/F novella for a Pride Month release with a publisher, and I am working on an F/F novella for a box set due this summer. Before that, though, I am finishing an M/M short for the next Sexy To Go bundle.
About the Author:
I am Leigh Ellwood. I write smutty stories about people who like getting naked and having sex. Some have more sex than others, some have sex with people of the same gender, some have sex with more than one person, and still others have sex with toys and things that require the use of batteries.
