Title: Light a Candle (Club Velvet Ice #4)

Author: VJ Summers

Publisher: Riptide

Cover Artist: L.C. Chase

Genre: BDSM, Contemporary, Gay Fiction, M/M Romance

Blurb:

Will broke Dusty’s heart their senior year. One unexpected moment of passion between them, and Will freaked out. Not only wasn’t he gay, but he wasn’t kinky either—or so he insisted to Dusty. Their long friendship ended, and Dusty was left with only bittersweet memories of their last movie night together.
Ten years later, out as gay and a Dom, Will auditions for membership at Club Deviant, only to find that he’s been assigned an all-too-familiar submissive. His scene with Dustin feels like fate, and he’s determined to get back what they once had—and more.
Dustin had buried the pain of rejection deep, but playing with Will conjures all his memories of that one electric moment they shared and the friendship it destroyed. He’s built walls around his heart high enough to keep out the Trojan Army, but together, he and Will may find the courage to move beyond their past and face their future together.

I can’t believe anyone would be that interested, but here ya go.

  1. My pen name, VJ, stands for Violet Johnson, my mother’s maiden name.

  2. My RL middle name is Dotti. I love it…now. As a kid I hated it. It was for my Grandma Dorotha, and she was never nice to me.

  3. I went to Baptist school for middle and high school. A lot of it took – I’ll let you speculate on what didn’t, lol.

  4. My first professional job was as a radio announcer at a podunk little station in West Michigan. My air name was Heather McKay. I decided as Heather I’d be 5’9″ and blonde. (VJ is 5’ and has sported various shades of red, blonde and purple, all of which are meant to cover her natural gray.)

  5. I have webbed toes on my left foot. No, really. It always makes for an awkward moment when I get a pedicure.

  6. I taught pretty much every variation of high school English and Literature over the course of eleven years in public education.

  7. I had a teenaged obsession with the Monkees – during their late 80’s – early 90’s comeback tour. I went to concerts and conventions. My vintage Monkees t-shirts really are vintage.

  8. My first car was a bright yellow ‘71 Buick Skylark. I called her Charlotte. Old Dude called her The Killer Canary. I loved her so much, she’s in some of my senior pictures. Now I drive the Mom-Mobile. How the mighty have fallen.

  9. I got my first tattoo when I was 23 after a bad breakup with a guy who said “no tattoos, no short hair, and no haircolor”. (Don’t bo th her to ask… I couldn’t even say.) I also chopped six inches off my hair and dyed it red. Really red.

  10. I got my third tattoo, a clump of violets, after the fifth Violet Summers book was published. (That one grew book by book until I have a floral piece down the length of my spine.)

  11. When I’m not reading m/m, I read a lot of YA paranormal and horror. There’s some exceptionally good stuff out there.

  12. I will drop anything if a Tigers game comes on.

  13. I will do any number of unspeakable things for a triple ventilation peppermint mocha, whole milk, no whip.

About the Author

When not working the EDJfH (Evil Day Job from Hell), obsessing over whether her parents are getting enough to eat, obsessing that her kid is sexting the boyfriend, making coffee, drinking coffee, or feeding the two cats who allow her to live with them, VJ can be found reading or writing erotic romance—either solo as m/m author VJ Summers, or as the shorter, more quiet half of the “Violet Summers” writing team (the tall half is Sierra Summers).

VJ loves to hear from readers! You can find her at https://vjsummersandsmut.wordpress.com/ and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/VJsSmut.

  2. Thanks so much for having me here! I will mention that Light a Candle is *not* a Velvet Ice story (the original, before we took it apart and did a Frankenstein on it, was), but it *does* take place at a super hot, super kinky club full of super sexy folks!

  3. Awesome, I love second chances, definitely want to see Dusty and Will work out their issues. Thanks for sharing so much about yourself =)

  4. I was fun to read a post about you, VJ! I thought just the other day how writers probably never knew they’d have to come prepared with interesting little bits about themselves for blog posts as a think that was going to be part of their writing career. 😉
