Jack has a secret hidden in his pants, and Eli thinks he knows what it is.
Jack Cox has a secret he’s kept hidden for years until a fellow hockey player discovers a scrap of silk and lace hiding in his pocket. Elijah Mitten notices how anxious Jack is as the hot-pink fabric makes its way around the locker room, and when Jack throws it in the trash like it means nothing, Elijah guesses what’s beneath his stoic façade and possibly his pants.
When Elijah shows up on Jack’s doorstep looking for answers, Jack won’t admit anything. But when Elijah takes matters into his own hands, Jack has to make a decision: share his secret and risk losing hockey or keep it hidden forever.
This story was not at all what I was expecting. I picked this one up after reading the first installment in this collection and did not read any farther than the title. I very quickly learned that “cheeky hipsters” was not in fact referring to a type of person and once that clicked, this story took on a whole new tone for me and I loved it!
Goodness this story was HOT. Like HOT HOT and I may have needed a moment to collect myself when I was finished reading a few of the sex scenes, and well, a few of the non sex scenes too. The senxual tension and connection between these men was off the charts. Combine that with Jack’s little secret, and the author hit a lot of my fantasies right on the head.
But this was not all sex. There was a romance brewing and it was well done. This was a short story but things never felt rushed. There was enough history and personality established for both men that I knew who they were and where they stood in life. There was enough growth and development for me to feel the connection between the men and not be surprised when things turned from sizzling to romantic. This was a well rounded story that left me feeling hot and bothered yet warm and fuzzy.
I am really enjoying this collection. Cheeky Hipsters & Jocks was another fabulous addition and I am going to be requesting the final two stories for review right away! And also, why have I never read anything by this author before?? I will be correcting that very shortly.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
