The Angel of Death has come back to claim Gregory’s life. After a seven-year reprieve from the Grim Reaper, Gregory knows it’s time to move onto his eternal afterlife, and stop the suffering he has had to physically endure all these years. Even though Gregory knows it’s time to move onto the next phase of his existence, his secret desire to be with the handsome, mysterious being has almost consumed his every thought. Instinctively, he knows they belong together, forever. But how does one have a relationship with Death’s Angel, and how can Gregory convince him they are meant to be?
Bring tissues for the first chapter. Even though you know it’s going to happen is still damn sad!
Gregory Harrison is just fourteen years old when he suffers a heart attack that should see him dead. He’s a plucky kid and when the grim reaper hovers over him ready to move him on he makes a bargain to extend his life for a few more years to have a bit longer with his parents.
Gregory gets another seven years but they are not easy. His heart is failing, his health is deteriorating and he gradually becomes weaker and weaker spending a lot of time in bed. The one thing he wishes he had experienced was a first love or even a first kiss so when the grim reaper returns for him a second time he once again bargains with the man. The reaper is hot and it’s Gregory’s wish to spend 48 hours with him as his lover.
The premise for this story for was fascinating but sadly the execution fell a little short. It felt rushed. It felt like they fell into bed with each other immediately and didn’t get out again except to eat until their 48 hours was up. I knew very little about the characters except they were very compatible in the bedroom. As Gregory was a virgin in all things it would have been nice for him to be romanced in the last 48 hours of his life.
There are key characters in this book that would provide interesting stories in any further books in the stories and I will definitely be keeping my eye out for them. Personally I would like to see a little more story and less sex.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
