Christopher Morin is unlucky in love. The only male worth anything in his life is his sweet dog Frost. Christopher is devastated when, shortly after his breakup with the worst boyfriend ever, his dog vanishes without a trace.
Doyle Schilbrack was lucky at love, until his wonderful partner of many years passed away, leaving Doyle lost and lonely. The solution? He adopts a sad little abandoned dog, a dog he names Jack. Together, man and dog come back to life.
Then one day, a year later, Christopher encounters Doyle in a park—walking his dog! Now the two men are faced with a dilemma. They want to do what is best for their dog, but it will break their hearts to let him go.
But then a rambunctious white Pomeranian takes matters in his own paws. There might be a way for both men to keep the dog, and find something else that’s been missing from their lives.

Fantastic short story from B G Thomas.
Christopher didn’t think his life could get much worse after he ended his first real relationship, where they actually lived together, until he came home from work to find his beloved dog Frost missing. He searches the streets and he hangs up flyers but all to no avail, then he grieves.
Doyle is a character that really got to me. His husband had been ill on and off for many years and has sadly just died. Doyle’s grief and despair rolls off the pages. A spur of the moment decision sees him in an animal shelter adopting a raggedy looking dog who needs someone to take him home and love him.
Roll on a year and Christopher has all but given up on finding Frost. Doyle’s dog Jack has thrived with the older man looking after him and helped pull him back from his grief on the darkest days. In a move to get away from some of the most raw memories Doyle has recently moved house and when out walking Jack one day in nearby park he runs into Christopher. Jack/Frost remembers his former human but also loves his current one. Both men love this little dog more than anything, both men want this little dog more than anything….they have a problem.
From this little dog comes friendship as he pines for both men. The ending although scary for Doyle and Christopher is perfect and left me with a huge smile
