Blurb:

For Robbie Russo, only one man has ever owned his heart, Kyler Christenson. The years at each other’s sides never diminished his love for him, but with the rise to fame in their rock band, Black Heart Down, more than a few challenges hindered their relationship. Now, he’s reached a crossroads, either he’ll have all of Kyler, or he’ll walk away from everything they’ve built together.

Kyler may be fearless on stage, but if there’s one thing to send his heart crashing down, it’s losing Robbie. When Robbie delivers his ultimatum, Kyler’s willing to do what it takes for things to work. But change doesn’t happen quickly, and when he makes a terrible mistake, all their history together might not be enough to save their future.

Caroline’s View:

If you have followed the series from the beginning you will be well versed in Robbie and Kyler’s relationship. You will also be used to Kyler being an ass most of the time and causing problems wherever he goes. Their relationship is destructive and has come to a point where something is going to have to give if either of them are ever to be happy.

Kyler and Robbie have been in love since they were teenagers. They are still very much in love but circumstances and past actions have made their love unhealthy and they are stuck in a never ending cycle of hurt and blame. When they first achieved fame Robbie wanted to taste more of life and this included taking more men to his bed. The result of this is all these years later their relationship is on again off again. Robbie is now ready to settle down but how does he fix what he first instigated.

Kyler isn’t really who he presents himself to be but the only person who truly knows him is Robbie. There is a reason he will never return to his home town or visit his family and that reason has made him the man he is today. He is fearful of coming out, he is fearful of admitting he is gay but his biggest fear is losing Robbie – a man he loves more than life itself.

Jesse once again proves how much he has grown up and how much finding Evan has changed him when he tries to help them both sort out their relationship. Robbie may be feeling like the hurt partner and blaming Kyler for everything but Jesse makes him look at the situation again and he realises how much blame lies with him. Even Evan buries the hatchet when he decides to help Kyler win back the man he loves.

Kyler and Robbie don’t travel an easy road and there is a lot of self-analysis and growing up in this book. In their time spent apart there is also a sense of owning their mistakes and realising what is important. The roads they have to take are very different but the sole purpose is to meet somewhere in the middle. There is also some very hot phone sex!!

  1. KP, this is a terrific series. Well worth the read.
Both boys have high expectations of themselves and how Kyler thinks he has to present himself to the world. Happy they got their HEA.
