Leigh Sterling and Jodie Whitehouse share a deep love and extreme passion in the bedroom. But when Jodie’s desire for a child becomes inevitable, it clashes with Leigh’s career ambitions as well as with her lack of maternal instinct, and forces them apart.
They go through life separately and, as years go by, their attempts at other relationships fail to measure up to the power of the union they once shared. When they see each other again eleven years after their painful breakup, an opportunity arises to explore if they really were each other’s one true love.
Ms Bliss has such a way with her stories. I’ve not read one like this before. Jodie and Leigh have been madly in love and a couple for six years. Together they took part in raising Jodie’s son. Jodie has always made it clear she wanted another child and now that time is running out (Bio clock) it needs to be now. Leigh doesn’t want a baby so they are left with the only solution, they break up. Leigh moves to San Francisco, playing the field and drinking too much while Jodie becomes pregnant with a little girl named Rosie. How will this ever lead to a happy ending???
I admit I was having one of those emotional days but I loved these ladies so much that I couldn’t help but cry several times throughout the book, but the tears at the ending were purely happy ones. I know this makes the book out to be painful and sad… It was at times but it was also really, really, really good. Everything had a reason for happening. What they went through made Jodie and Leigh stronger people so they could become who they needed to be for themselves and each other. The story was dramatic, moving, Very HOT in a wink, wink sort of way. It was thought provoking, touching and precious and emotional.
Everyone of Ms Bliss’ books take me on such a different journey. Maybe that is why she is one of the best! Thank you so much Ms Bliss.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
