A Matter of Time Story
After years of domestic partnership, Jory Harcourt and Sam Kage are finally going to make it official in their home state of Illinois. It’s been a long and rocky road, and nothing—not disasters at work, not the weather, not a possible stalker, not even getting beat up and having to attend the ceremony looking like he just got mugged—will make Jory wait one more day to make an honest man of the love of his life.
Should be a piece of cake, right?
Sam & Jory are major goto comfort reads for me. I have lost track of how many times I have read their series, A Matter of Time. Even though I would love to see the entire series get a good editing to eliminate some consistency errors, I love these two too much to care in the end.
If you are a fan of the series, you will want to pick up the latest (and free) installment in Sam & Jory’s story. In Piece of Cake, they finally get married in the eyes of the state of Illinois and the US government, after most than a decade and a half together. They are surrounded by family and close friends. We get to see that they are still going strong. That Sam still makes Jory’s knees go weak. That Jory still manages to calm Sam and center him. That they both will go to the ends of the earth for their kids.
Of course with Jory involved, things aren’t completely simple. We see a glimpse of an enemy of the past, and we get to see Sam go alpha male US Marshal to protect what is his. We also get to see more about the relationship between Aaron and Duncan from Parting Shot.
This installment is free. I highly recommend it if you are a fan of Mary Calmes signature series, A Matter of time.
