In the wake of birth and betrayal, Ushna takes the God Ashur to Tristan in a last desperate bid to save Tristan’s life—and is helpless to do anything but watch as Ashur instead buries him in a grave. Though he has no desire to go on living, having now lost Brian and Tristan, Ushna has no choice. Not only do their children need him, the mysterious Simurgh has come out of hiding and forces him to continue on—for there is much to do and little time to do it, especially with treachery and danger closing in on them from every side.
Dragon’s Eye overlaps with the events at the end of the previous book. You MUST read these in order to get the whole picture.
This is one of those series that I recommend you read each book very close together. It has been several months since I read the previous book and as there was a LOT to remember. I felt lost at times. I struggled to remember details that had occurred, who was who, what faction had what agenda, which god was good/evil, etc. This is such an epic series that too much time between books is actually a bad thing, unless you have superb memory skills. Which I don’t have, so my reading suffered a bit.
However, I am still enjoying this grand series. Dragon’s Eye once again took the series ARC to the next level. It answered some questions, introduced more, and just overall added to the mystery and wonder that is this world. I am loving the characters, the plot, and the setting. I maintain that this would be a great movie.
With Dragon’s Eye, the love between Tristan and Ushna was rekindled and reaffirmed. They are such a great pairing. Their love for one another is in all things and is always first and foremost. Even when completing the smallest tasks, their love shines through. And with this story, the author adds a third dimension to their love, Brian. Their triad is complete now with all three men connected and so much in love. Brain was not as great a player in this story as Tristan and Ushna, so his portion of this loving family was not as strong as the pairing has been, but I can see that it will be just as intense in the upcoming books. That is what I love about this series. There is soooooo much going on, but the one constant is love and it steals the show.
I am eager for book 6. Dragon’s Eye left us hanging again in the best way and I need to know what comes next. Will we finally get the conclusion of this story or will there be more? I need to know! When is the next one being published????
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
