Finley Cooper is tired of waiting. He’s spent the last two years, waiting for his destined mate to be ready to claim him. In deference to human laws, he’s agreed to put it off until he was eighteen. But now he is and his mate has a new set of excuses. Finley doesn’t understand it any more than his wolf does. And Finley’s beginning to wonder if Tanner really wants him or if fate made a mistake.
Tanner Pearce wants nothing more than to claim his mate. But Finley’s age worries him. He’ll never forget what happened when his best friend mated at Finley’s age, only to have that mate end up feeling trapped and breaking their bond. While rare, it can happen, and the fallout Tanner witnessed as his best friend tried to deal with the break would haunt him for years.
If that isn’t bad, when the future alpha of the Forbes pack claims his mate, it’s traditionally a public event. Neither Tanner’s nor Finley’s parents understand Tanner’s reticence over either issue, but Tanner is sure claiming Finley this soon is a recipe for disaster. However, Finley has had enough and when Finley threatens to find someone who will claim him if Tanner doesn’t, Tanner realizes he’s going to have to come to terms with his fears or risk losing his mate forever.
Thank you so much to Prism Book Alliance for helping me on the tour! I really appreciate it. To continue on our interview, Finley and Tanner talk about heroes and fiction.
So, let’s go to some of your likes. Who are your favorite writers?
Finley: Do movie writers count?
Tanner rolls his eyes.
What? I’m a movie person! It’s not that I don’t read. Finley holds a hand up. Just that… I have a thing for movies, especially werewolf movies. I just can’t get over how much they get wrong—and, sometimes right—but they’re just so fun. So, for me, can I say John Landis?
Sure. What about you, Tanner?
Tanner shakes his head, but kisses Finley. You’re something, baby. For me, I think Stephen King. The Stand is one of my all-time favorite books. King is a master at freaking people out and I love the way he puts a story together.
Who is your hero of fiction?
Finley frowns. Oh geez. I don’t think David Kessler—the American werewolf—really counts as a “hero.” Tanner chuckles and Finley elbows him. Well, then, who’s your favorite?
Tanner blushes a little. Uh… Actually, even though King is my favorite writer, I’m not sure any of the main characters in The Stand would really count as the heroes. Instead, I think I might say it’s a toss up between Frodo and Harry.
Finley blinks. Really?
Tanner nods. Yeah. It’s a good thing too, since you like Azkaban so much.
Finley grins. Well, I mean… Lupin.
Tanner rolls his eyes, but smiles back. Yeah, yeah, Lupin. So… do you have one?
Finley shrugs. If I have to pick one, then maybe Lucian from the Underworld movies. I really liked him, though Selene did kick some serious ass.
Tanner shakes his head.
Hey, that counts. So, then, who are your heroes in real life?
Is it really corny if I say my dad? Tanner blushes. I mean, okay, he was hard on me growing up, but there was a good reason for it. I am the future alpha of the pack, and he was trying to teach me how to be strong. And he was. He’s also really fair and good man. I hope I can be half the alpha he is.
Finley kisses Tanner’s cheek. Not corny, baby. Finley clears his throat then leans away from Tanner and whispers. How about I tell you it’s him? He tilts his head toward Tanner.
What? Tanner pokes Finley in the side.
Nothing. Um… Real life… maybe my parents. They’re both really brave, picking up and moving across the country, you know? They didn’t know, really, what they’d find out here and we weren’t exactly rich when we moved. It could have gone really badly—though, now that I know we were being led toward my fated mate, it wouldn’t have—but it could have. And for them to put their faith in an unknown alpha and move… that was a lot. I hope I can be that brave if I’m faced with the same thing. He glances over at Tanner, then leans in again and whispers. But him. Getting on a plane and flying across country? Holy shit. I don’t know that I could have done that.
I heard that. Tanner pulls Finley into a kiss. Thank you.
Finley blushes, seemingly unable to answer.
Let’s lighten things up a bit. What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Wear? Finley blinks. I’m supposed to wear something?
I’m not sure my wolf wants everyone to know you sleep naked. Tanner scowls.
You mean like you just told them? So I shouldn’t tell them you sleep naked most of the time too?
Thanks again to Prism for hosting me today!

About the Author
Grace Duncan grew up with a wild imagination. She told stories from an early age – many of which got her into trouble. Eventually, she learned to channel that imagination into less troublesome areas, including fanfiction, which is what has led her to writing male/male erotica.
A gypsy in her own right, Grace has lived all over the United States. She has currently set up camp in East Texas with her husband and children – both the human and furry kind.
As one of those rare creatures who loves research, Grace can get lost for hours on the internet, reading up on any number of strange and different topics. She can also be found writing fanfiction, reading fantasy, crime, suspense, romance and other erotica or even dabbling in art.
