Nic Starr talks My Name is Nic Starr and I’m a foodie ~ Fostered Author Guest Post and Giveway

For this week, we are doing something a little different here at Prism Book Alliance®. We are taking part in the Foster and Author program organized by the great ladies over that Jo and Isa Love Books. Our assigned author is Nic Starr, who we have reviewed here a number of times on Prism Book Alliance®. Brandilyn recently reviewed Andrew’s Promise.

My Name is Nic Starr and I’m a foodie

Food, glorious food.

Sometimes I think most of my life revolves around food. As a mum, I’m always planning the next meal. I spend hours each week shopping and cooking. I entertain regularly—sometimes a small dinner party, at other times, a large gathering. My husband and I are lucky enough to dine out frequently. When we are on holidays, we visit food-producing areas and buy local produce. We taste olives, oils, homemade and homegrown foods.

Food. Food. Food.

Unfortunately, my waistline suffers, but apart from that, I’ve no complaints. wink

My love affair with food started due to my love of cooking. I loved cooking so much, when I left school, I studied hospitality management. It continued when I met my husband, who’s a fellow foodie, and a wine buff.

My love affair with food has overflowed into my stories. My characters are often found preparing a meal, eating out, or entertaining. In the More Than series (http://bit.ly/1LyKjEd), a catering business features heavily. In both books of the Heroes series, Charlie’s Hero (http://bit.ly/1eq1G1u) and Andrew’s Promise (http://bit.ly/1eq1G1u), barbecues are a regular occurrence.
Thanks to the wonders of the iPhone, here are some recent food porn shots.

Young mechanic Andrew Campbell’s life couldn’t be better. He is about to restore a Ford Mustang with his dad before heading off on the ultimate cross-country road trip with his best friend, Tanner McKenzie.

But tragedy strikes, and Andrew’s life is shattered. Worried his family will be torn apart if he doesn’t step in, Andrew makes a tough choice between following his heart and doing what he needs to do to protect his little brother.

When Andrew pushes Tanner away, Tanner heads off on the planned trip alone. Once Tanner leaves town, his life takes a different path, and it’s ten years before he returns. Now a firefighter, he’s never forgotten his first love, and no one has ever taken Andrew’s place in his heart. He’s determined to see if Andrew feels the same way. He just hopes Andrew’s excited to see him, hopes that he’s available—and finally out—after all this time.

They might not have been ready to deal with emerging feelings years ago, but now might be the time for their second chance at love.

  1. No fair with the food porn – now I am hungry. 😉

We are foodies too, although my husband cooks more than I do these days. We also love trying local food when we travel.
